In For A Penny: FAQ

Since I get mailed a bunch for questions on a couple things, I'll add this as a link on the side for answering them. Feel free to comment with questions and I'll answer for you.

Q: Why did it take so long between parts one and two?

A: I sent my scripts out in September 2008, but a couple voice actors had RL things to deal with. At the beginning of April, I recasted Thayle. IFAP Part 2 was released within a week.

Q: How long until Part 3?

A:  The scripts have been sent to the actors and I have created some of the sets that will be used. We have a new baby, and that will take up most of my time. Unfortunately, I had different project I had to cancel on which I was looking forward to participating in, but tiny demanding god comes first.

Currently I am waiting on three voice actors; once those actors send their lines, I will begin working on the project.  Until then, I am enjoying time with my daughter.

Q: Can I do voices for IFAP?

A: Thank you for the interest, but I will need no more actors for IFAP.

Q: I need that song Leda sings in Part 1! I NEED IT!

A: Tori Amos - Mother Revolution. Here's a link to the amazon page.

Q: Did you sing the song Leda sings??

A: No. See answer above. I sang in a different machinima though.

Q: What's X song in X scene? Where can I get these songs?

A: All the music used is listed in the credits. A link to the songs is available below. Please do not contact me asking for me to e-mail them to you; I will not send them. You can purchase them on amazon for less than a dollar per song, or download from Jamendo, depending on which one.

Prologue:
Informatik - Watching You Watching Me
Bel Canto - Waking Will

Part 1 - "On All Eight":
NIN - Ghosts I-IV
Tori Amos - Mother Revolution

NIN - Lights in the Sky
Sion - After Hours
Tryad - Breathe
Maya Filipic - Prelude in C# minor

Q: What programs do you use?

A: World of Warcraft: Shadow Council Server, Oblivion TES Editor, Sony Vegas 8.0, WoWModelViewer, WoWMapViewer, Fraps, Particle Illusion, Audacity, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Crazytalk

Q: Who did the voices in IFAP?

A: IFAP Cast List:

Can it be?

Wowmodelviewer.org updated it's frontpage with the next version of Model Viewer... can it be... is it real? Doth my eyes deceive me?

0.6.0.2 WoW Model Viewer Release.

From initial messing with it, it is a bit buggy. It locked up more than a few times, and I got to see an awesome disco light show at one point when it bugged out as well. It seems usable, at least, if needing a little patience.

I'm still excited to see a new version. :D

Update 2: I've actually been using the older version now for non-wrath animations. There used to be 3-4 talk type animations (talk/exclamation/question/etc) which have all been removed in the newest version, giving me less range of movement for animating that. I hope it's something that can be returned to the program, but likely, Blizzard removed the data files which is why modelviewer doesn't see them. Very disappointing for machinimation. :(

Optemizzm, I has it.

I'd hoped to have IFAP2 done and released last year, but it wasn't in the cards. I did get e-mail recently from the voice actors that I am still missing files from, who said they would work on getting them to me soon. It's making me hugely optimistic that I can start working on the project again. *crosses fingers*

I do feel bad whenever I see posts on my videos asking for the next one; I'd have it out if I could, really, but you have to roll with what you are given. I'm hoping that once I have the voices, I'll be able to release it within a few weeks of that. I can put off gaming addictions for long enough to work on it. ^^

In any case, I re-rendered the original IFAP Part One with better compression settings, thanks to Legs teaching me how not to such with megui. If you are interested in such things, you can find the download >here<. Quality should be much improved.

Out in the Cold

As I've mentioned a million times, Legs' work is some of my favorite in machinima. Her latest submission is no exception.

I've been waiting patiently for a stream since the 24th when it was finished, but Legs was having difficulty uploading it to m.com, and needed admin assistance to finally get it online. It was submitted to the m.com Christmas contest and is stunningly beautiful, and very sweet. If you haven't seen it yet, give a look.

If comedies are more your thing, check out Northrend Wonderland by Fireboltpro. You won't be disappointed and when a movie about slaughter across Northrend can put a smile on your face and make you feel holiday cheer... it's doing it right.

Candy Corns and Crackhorses

I know I've been quiet a while. IFAP2 is currently on semi-hold until I receive the rest of my voice files, otherwise it would probably have been completed and released last month. But until then I decided to take a few days and throw into the machinima.com Candy Corns and Crackheads contest.

I'm not usually much of a contest person anymore. The last contest I entered anything in was "He Will Redeem Us", and that was a year ago... but this one looked like a bit of fun and complete silliness.

The name of the short machinima is "The Munchies." If you are looking for a masterpiece of art, you will probably be disappointed. Okay, very disappointed. It was a three day project solely around the idea that if the horse machinima could win an award at a film festival and be nominated for others... anything with horses must be artistically inspired. So it's a lot of injoke that I think anyone who has seen the horse machinima can understand.

Click here for "The Munchies" if embed isn't working.

In the meanwhile, if you want to see a machinima with some very nice editting, check out Legs' new Route 440. If you ask her, she will say this is her worst machinima to date - it has no plot or reason, but the editting is stunning and enjoyable.

Also, there were the winners of the WCM Halloween contest. The winner, "The Orchard" was shot well, even though the ending for me needed nothing more than "I wonder how her apples are so good?!" to figure out. For me, the thing about this machinima that really made it stand out was Caruu's sound design. Sound design isn't something most people really take notice of, but when done this well, it adds so much to the movie. If you don't know by now, Caruu is a professional sound designer that often lends his voice and talents to machinima. He also loves the horse machinima. (Don't kill me, Caruu. *cower*)

In any case, enjoy or try to enjoy, "The Munchies." ;)

Jabbersquawky's Dream

Caruu did something very sweet for my husband and I, and wrote a song for our Sheebee who passed away at the end of August. It's a beautiful little piece of piano, give a listen and think about our little Sheebee sleeping peacefully.

It's called "Jabbersquawky's Dream."

Thank you, Caruu. It means a lot to us.
